aching for heavens longing for Eden past had it all can’t be unravelled I walk through thin ice here counting new freckles there is no one around me no man who matters can’t be replaced can’t be relived my youth, old loving it won’t repeat not sad, yet quiet I sit by the water ice melted quickly freckles forgotten can’t be restored can’t be re-smelled old youth, my loving I won’t forget not single, yet lonely I lie in new beds freckles were counted heart couldn’t melt

tęskniąc za niebem
w poszukiwaniu Edenu
przeszłość miała wszystko
nie powtórzy się, czemu?
stąpam po lodzie
liczę ich piegi
nie ma żadnego
który coś zmieni
niezastąpiona
niepowtarzalna
ta młodość, ta miłość
nie wróci już, prawda?
niesmutna, lecz cicha
siedzę nad wodą
lód całkiem stopniał
ślad piegów wchłonął
nieodzyskiwalna
niewspółodczuwalna
ta miłość, ta młodość
nie zapomnę jej, cała
niesamotna, lecz sama
leżę w nowych łóżkach
piegi policzyłam
serce wciąż pod kluczem
I am walking, but it is all sort of a lethargy. There are lips around me, there are hands around me, there are arms around me. My calendar could be filled with plans of meeting someone, but somehow more important than any calendars for me are maps right now. Where was I? Where were we? Where did I get lost? Where did we get lost? I'm home, but I'm not really here. I seem to leave no shadow on the walls I pass by. My skin although nicely toffee-coloured from the memories of this summer is the thinnest I've had in a long time. I lost four kilos in a month. My ribs can be easily counted just by looking at them. Contactless. I became contactless. I don't enjoy the touch. It doesn't even make me sad. I have an anchor on my heart, as big as the one I saw in Dover’s harbour. My heart dried out in the sun. It dried out completely. It is only my most wonderful friendships that are saving me right now, because somehow in the eyes of my friends, I can see the contours of who I was before I broke my own heart again. And yesterday for a second, I saw the outline of my past self. One second is a lot. One second is enough. Tomorrow is a new day. Maybe this time I'll wake up without remembering how I stood in the middle of a dusty village in Portugal with a backpack in my hand and a burning need to prevent myself from getting even more heartbroken in my legs. How many more of these stories will I have to collect in my portfolio?

Bezdotykowo. Bezdotykowa cała się zrobiłam. Nie cieszy mnie dotyk. Nie smuci mnie nawet. Mam na sercu kotwicę wielką taką, jaką widziałam w porcie w Dover. Wypłowiało mi serce. Do dna mi wypłowiało. Do dna. I tylko te moje najcudniejsze przyjaźnie mnie ratują, bo jakimś cudem w oczach przyjaciół widać kontury tego, kim byłam zanim znowu złamałam sobie serce. Wczoraj na sekundę widziałam ten swój stary kontur. Sekunda to dużo. Sekunda narazie wystarczy. Jutro nowy dzień. Może tym razem obudzę się bez przypominania sobie tego, jak stałam na środku zakurzonego pustkowia w Portugalii z plecakiem w ręce i ucieczką w nogach. Ile jeszcze tych historii do portfolio?
this is me
and I do not eat
and I do not sleep
and I cry when they serve meals
now
this is me
unable to share
unable to touch
unable to speak
anymore
this is me
preparing a bed
preparing a tea
preparing wine
for one
this is me
walking through my bedroom
walking through my hallway
walking through this world
alone
this is me
lighting up a candle
lighting up some salvia
lighting up the longing
on repeat
this is me
taking off my clothes
taking off my rings
taking off pink glasses
to see
this is me
sobering
crying
staying grounded
no matter how much it hurts
how much it cost
how hard it is
to move forward
I will not tag along
I was born to be a queen
